Knitting progress report

Students are at different stages of the first project. Chris and Katie work on straps for their bag. We are using the I-cord with 4 stitches. Working on double pointed or circular needles, cast-on 4 stitches, knit every row without turning the work - that is, at the end of a row, push the stitches to the other end of the needle and knit by bringing the yarn from the last stitch on the left to the first stitch on the right.

Mary and Whitney sew seams using the mattress stitch.

Several students have started the second project - a multi color hat (details in another post).
Kathy and Stephy search for designs to add to their hats. Michele gets some advice on her swatch from Barb, the fabulous mathematician/knitter who has been joining us to help teach the knitters.
